WHO WE ARE
The Duane X Arts Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization, which was founded in 2020. Our main objective is to carry on the Legacy of Duane I. Todman Jr. Our foundation shares in his dream of " Changing the World through Art. " Our organization will focus on all aspects of art. Visual, Fashion, and Graphic Art, just to name a few. The foundation's goal is to carry on his Legacy by creating "The Traveling Art Center.
"The Traveling Art Center," will bring to the community a facility that will allow our youth a platform for self-expression and a safe place to be creative. The need for a place for our youth is a necessary. The organization will create mentorship and youth development programs to allow students to explore their talents. Our youth will have a unique opportunity to create their space based on their vision of what art is. The Center will introduce them to "The Artist, the man, Duane I. Todman Jr." His story, hopefully, will begin them on a journey of self-discovery. We will partner up with community leaders to assists in building support and trust between neighbors. Empower students, and give them the opportunity to discover one's own strength and confidence. Encourage creativity and promote outside the lines thinking and problem-solving. Together we will learn through diversity, that many stories, though different offer similarities. As the respect for the craft develops, it will open up their eyes to the vast array of diversity, creating the acceptance of others. Our organization offers various services, and Innovate our students to be creative while discovering their own talents and passions.
Here at The Duane X Art Foundation, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Our organization will remember him and honor his Work. Since our formation, we have been determined to make an impact on the community youths. The core of our efforts is to bring his passion for art to the world. The range of activities, workshops and community events, will help tell his story. We support community projects in a variety of ways measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. Just imagine what we can achieve together.
Duane's drawing inspiration developed from contemporary masters and the old masters, he hoped to succeed in areas where others may have fallen in short. The religious themes of the Baroque period, the romanticism of Bouguereau, and the D'Beaux-Arts school of Academicism were constant influences on the direction Todman sought to take his work. Duane received a full scholarship to study at the Acadamy of realist Art, in Boston, which he had not known at the time of his death. Todman, worked on many exciting projects to help improve the lives of others, and we are very proud of the progression, We work every day to promote positive change in young children's lives through Art
